Staying and Walking in Kingston with Southmoor.

Countryside walks in Kingston Bagpuize-with Southmoor.

We live in a beautiful part of the English countryside, and it is good to get outside and look around. Our local history society has drawn up a variety of walks in the immediate area for you to explore. Some walks are about 3 miles whilst others are longer and take a bit more stamina. The walks are available as five 12-page guidebooks, A4 companions of circular countryside walks with Landscape companions and are available here.

There are many walks to follow and there are group walks to be found in our Village KBS News. I feel sure there is a welcome for anyone who wishes to join us in these activities.

Staying in the area.

You may well be researching your family history and need somewhere to stay which has easy access to Oxford and the Centre for Oxfordshire Studies and the Oxfordshire Record Office.

Take the Witney Road from Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor to the extremely comfortable Rectory Farm situated in the hamlet of Northmoor. Here they do Bed and Breakfast and also have some self-catering cottages. https://visitrectoryfarm.co.uk/

There are also many new places being built along the side of the A420 towards Faringdon.

Eating and Drinking

Many eateries in the village have closed but we still have The Wagon and Horses, Faringdon Road, Southmoor who provide light refreshments or full meals. At Fyfield is a good restaurant serving lunch and evening  meals. http://www.whitehart-fyfield.com/

On the Abingdon Road at Millets Farm you will find Limbrick’s Restaurant; a coffee shop and Farm shop and in the adjoining Frosts Garden centre is the Potting Shed Cafe.

For Coffee and meals in Southmoor, you will find good food at The Munchery within the parade of shops off the Faringdon Road.
