Staying and Walking in Kingston Bagpuize area

Countryside walks in Kingston Bagpuize

We live in a beautiful part of the English countryside, and it is good to get outside and look around. Our local history society has drawn up a variety of walks in the immediate area for you to explore. Some walks are about 3 miles whilst others are longer and take a bit more stamina. The walks are available as five 12-page guidebooks, A4 companions of circular countryside walks with Landscape companions and are available here.

There are many walks to follow and our local W.I. runs group walks and we support our local Health Walks run by Kathy Fletcher. We happily welcome anyone who wishes to join us in these activities.

Staying in the area

At either end of the village you will find places to eat and drink - The Hinds Head, The Wagon and Horses and the Lamb and Flag.  All these provide light refreshments or full meals. We also boast an hotel 'Fallowfields' and several homes that do Bed and Breakfast.

You may well be researching your family history and need somewhere to stay which has easy access to Oxford and the Centre for Oxfordshire Studies and the Oxfordshire Record Office. You are able to stay in our village at Fallowfields  an extremely confortable hotel, but sadly for various reasons, our  four Bed and Breakfast establishments are no more.  In Fyfield, which is 5 minutes away, is Manor Farm where they do a great Bed and Breakfast. Both are close to good bus transport to Oxford, and from our village, to Abingdon and Witney also. 'The Limes' in Longworth is also a Bed and Breakfast which is situated near the Thames Path.
