Oxfordshire Record Office - holds historical documents for all types of local and family research

Oxfordshire Studies Library - a major family history centre with important collections of maps, newspapers, photographs and oral history tapes

Oxfordshire Archdeacon's Marriage Bond Index - Marriages without Banns - a fee paying Marriage Bond. Used by those who could or had to afford it. There is also coverage for Berkshire in the Central Library.

The National Virtual Museum - The 24 Hour Museum is the UK’s National Virtual Museum, updated daily with at least two new stories including arts and museum news as well as exhibition notices, reviews, features and trails.

Berkshire Family History Society - a great deal of information for those with Berkshire ancestry

Oxfordshire Buildings Record - to advance education and promote research on the buildings of Oxfordshire

Genuki Berkshire - a comprehensive "virtual reference library" of genealogical information

Stanford in the Vale History - a very interesting history website.  Many of the surnames are known in this area too.

Workhouses website - out of work and unable to fend for yourself and your family at one time would have landed you in the workhouse. Compare today's life with those unfortunates from our villages who found themselves here in the Abingdon or Faringdon Workhouses.

National Monument Record- The NMR provides specialist advice and guidance to a range of users, which include other national heritage organisations, local authority HERs, local and national thematic projects, researchers, students etc. – It is based in Swindon,  so very near at hand for a visit.
